Calcium hypochlorite calculator

Select the stock recipe, enter the target, and use the calculated rate. Calculations use DryTec's guaranteed minimum 65% available chlorine.

Stock solution workflow

Prepare the stock first, then calculate how much to use.

STK

Mix the stock solution

Choose the concentration and final stock-tank volume.

g/gal

Edit this value to use a custom stock rate.

US gal

Normal range: 1–50 US gal.

Stock concentration11 g/gal
Total DryTec required55 g

Add 55 g DryTec to water, then bring the final volume to 5 US gal.

11 g/gal is FRA's standard concentration. Higher concentrations may dissolve more slowly or leave sediment.

Determine how much stock to use

Set the chlorine target and the volume of water being treated.

ppm

US gal

Usage ratePrepared stock per treated water
4.01 mL/gal

Inject 4.01 mL of prepared stock per gallon of irrigation water.

Equivalent injection setting0.106%
Total stock for 100 US gal400.82 mL

The calculated 0.106% setting is within the MZ3000's 0.03–0.3% range.

Direct-dose quick table

Theoretical applied chlorine using DryTec at 65% available chlorine.

Quick ref
Applied chlorineDryTec / 100 US galOperational reference

The 0.5–2 ppm rows are FRA's continuous-use residual range at the farthest dripper. Elevated cleaning references are not continuous-use plant targets. Verify the measured residual after system demand.

Verify at the dripper

The calculation is the applied dose. Measure free chlorine at the farthest dripper and maintain the current FRA target of 0.5–2 ppm.

Field verification and other application points

System demand can consume chlorine before it reaches the dripper. Use the measured residual to adjust the applied rate.

ppm

Enter a measured residual to compare it with the 0.5–2 ppm range.

DryTec handling and mixing
  • Use clean, dry tools.
  • Add DryTec to water. Never add water to DryTec.
  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection.
  • Avoid breathing dust and use adequate ventilation.
  • Store DryTec cool and dry in its original container.
  • Keep DryTec away from acids, organic material, and other incompatible products.
